I haven't even tried a 29er yet, let alone bought one. Now it seems I need to wait for a new standard:650b.

650b has actually been around longer than 29er. It just didn't quite catch on as quick!

Actually, 29er's were the original mountain bikes, as they were initially converted road and cruiser 700c bikes ie/29"
